  • I suspect that these tires are best used on heavier cars and SUV's to avoid noise issues, and I would suggest keeping a close eye on your to avoid the worst of the flatspotting issues. Overall, however, I found the Continental ExtremeContact DWS to be highly effective, very grippy and pretty fun to drive, and they may be about the all-season tires I have ever encountered. They might even shatter my own preconceived notions of what can do in the winter, but I'll have to update this review on that matter once the snow starts to fall.

The term "all-season" sounds weak. Tires described this way are perceived to be of poor quality and lack true performance. We don't blame the haters, either; the reason all-season tires were created in the first place was for the North American market, where drivers don't always change rubber when winter or summer rolls around. Maybe we're on a budget and can't afford the extra set, maybe we wouldn't have space to store the second set for six months, or perhaps we're just too damn lazy or don't care. In many parts of Europe, it's actually the law for people to switch to winter tires during the cold months or you'll be fined. Imagine that here! But you have to ask yourself this: what is the single most important thing on your car that will benefit your safety on the road? You guessed it - those four black rings that connect your vehicle to the pavement. While in Southern California we can get away with our stickier summer compounds year-round, the rest of the country needs 12 months of performance, whether it's in the dry, wet or even snow. Continental ExtremeContact DWS Ultra High ..

invited us out to the Bosch Automotive Proving Grounds in Flat Rock, , as part of its “” tour. Tire dealers (and journalists) attended to learn about the new high performance g-Force Comp 2 All Season tires, which are on sale now.BFG set up two courses: one dry, one wet. The was the vehicle chosen for the dry autocross course, and the was used for the wet autocross course. BFG asked the dealers which tires would they like to test against the Comp 2s; they chose the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06.We started on the wet autocross course. After flooring it to the first stop sign and panic stopping, the BFG tires had a good bite, even on the soaked concrete. We weaved in and out of the slippery course feeling safe in the car with g-Force Comp 2 A/S tires. When we got into the second with the Continental tires, it took us almost 7 extra feet to stop. We proceeded through the rest of the track and were a little wary, feeling like we could spin out at any minute.
