Another YeMaYa organizer is Beth Manley, founding member of the Cameltoe Lady Steppers, one of the city’s first women’s marching groups and likely the inspiration for the subsequent proliferation of similar organizations.
While the Steppers are currently working on an official website, you can learn more about their organization and the upcoming fundraiser on the Camel Toe Lady Steppers Facebook page.
Come and support the Cameltoe Lady Steppers Annaul Fundraiser with entertainment featuring Sweet Crude, Tank and the Bangas, Fleur de Tease, the Camel Toe Lady Steppers and the Roots of Music.
Camel Toe Lady Steppers are an all-female marching Krewe founded in 2003. We have marched in the Muses parade since 2004, and with over 50 members, our mission is to promote positive female energy, support New Orleans culture and have fun along the way. Proceeds from our fundraiser will benefit Roots of Music. The Roots of Music aims to teach, support, and empower the youth of New Orleans through music education, academic support, and mentorship while preserving and promoting New Orleans' unique musical and cultural heritage. Started by Rebirth Brass Band member Derrick Tabb, the program serves over 100 low-income students and provides a unique environment for the nurturing of an essential element of New Orleans culture.
