  • Hey moderators, we have a terrorist here. His name is Joe and he is using the threats of violence against the owners of Walmart cause he doesn’t like the store. I would think that you people would ban someone who was encouraging the murder of people here.

We were thrilled to wake up to Monday’s headlines announcing — the largest U.S. e-commerce transaction to date, but a small price to pay, given Walmart’s $230 billion market cap and drive to secure a toehold against its main rival, Amazon.

  • Obamacare caused this, I know several people who lost their homes because walmart cut their hours fro 40 to 27-32 so they would be part time employees and walmart would not have to provide health care for them. Thanks berry you screwed Joe naverage America again.

Walmart is responsible for a good part of the problems in this country, they move into small towns wipe out all the local busniess that was paying a decent wage and then the local people have no choice but to go work at walmart. Walmart then closes that store and consolidates with the next closest store The funny thing is people that shop there are stupid they buy into the low price thing and it is a huge lie. Most stuff can be purchased elsewhere for the same or cheaper, as per a quote from an upper level manager at Walmart. Walmart is a horrible company, if the 3 remaining owners would donate 1% of their wealth 1% they could cover every employee with medical insurance. Walmart also takes out what they call dead peasent policies on some of their employes. If an employee dies Walmart collects the life insurance, not a nickle goes to the family. Go rent (walmart the high cost of low price) and see what scumbag devils these people are. They then leave huge vacant stores that are so big no one else can use them so they sit vacant. Most times they get huge tax breaks to put those buildings up as well. Walmart is also responsible for the largest part of our trade deficit with China, That store should be forced out of business and the owners executed in public. They earn huge profits by using their power to exploit people period. It is disgusting what these people to to their employees and to the towns they force their way into and yes there are a lot of times where they force their way in even if the towns do not want them.

In October 2005, Walmart announced several environmental measures to increase . The primary goals included spending a year to increase fuel efficiency in Walmart's truck fleet by 25 percent over three years and double it within ten, reduce emissions by 20 percent in seven years, reduce energy use at stores by 30 percent, and cut solid waste from U.S. stores and Sam's Clubs by 25 percent in three years. CEO Lee Scott said that Walmart's goal was to be a "good steward for the environment" and ultimately use only sources and produce zero waste. The company also designed three new experimental stores with , solar panels, -capable boilers, water-cooled refrigerators, and gardens. Despite much criticism of its environmental record, Walmart took a few steps in what some viewed as a positive direction, which included becoming the biggest seller of organic milk and the biggest buyer of organic cotton in the world, as well as reducing packaging and energy costs. Walmart also spent nearly a year working with outside consultants to discover the company's total environmental impact and find areas for improvement. Walmart has also recently created its own in Texas, , and plans to supply its stores with cheap power purchased at wholesale prices. Through this new venture, the company expects to save annually and also to lay the groundwork and infrastructure to sell electricity to Texas consumers in the future.
